Carrie Underwood to Perform at Donald Trump's Inauguration

Carrie Underwood, the Grammy-winning country music star, is set to perform "America the Beautiful" at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Sharing her thoughts, Underwood stated, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration. It’s a privilege to contribute to this historic event.”

Having avoided political commentary throughout her career, Underwood emphasized the importance of unity during these times. The celebrated artist, who rose to fame after winning American Idol in 2005, will join a lineup of performers in marking Trump’s return to office following his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 2024 election.

Notably, Trump's use of music by artists like Beyoncé and Neil Young has faced criticism, with many requesting he cease playing their tracks during his campaigns. However, Trump has found support among performers such as rapper Waka Flocka Flame and country singers Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Following Underwood’s performance, Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the oath of office to Trump, officially commencing his presidency.
