ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Punjab Police’s Comprehensive Security Plan Finalized

Punjab Police has completed all security arrangements for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Strict security measures will be in place during matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi, with thousands of police personnel deployed.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson:

  1. A total of 12,000+ police officers and personnel will be on duty.

  2. 18 senior officers, 54 DSPs, 135 inspectors, and 1,200 upper subordinates will be deployed.

  3. 10,556 constables and over 200 female police officers will also be responsible for security and checking.

Security Arrangements in Lahore:

  1. 8,000 police officers and personnel will be on duty.

  2. 12 senior officers, 39 DSPs, 86 inspectors, and 700 upper subordinates will be deployed.

  3. 6,673 constables and 129 female constables will also perform security duties.

Security Arrangements in Rawalpindi:

  1. Over 5,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed.

  2. 6 senior officers, 15 DSPs, 50 inspectors, and 500 upper subordinates will be on duty.

  3. 4,000 constables and over 100 female personnel will be responsible for security and checking.

Match Schedule:

  1. Matches in Lahore will be held on February 22, 26 and March 5.

  2. Matches in Rawalpindi will take place on February 24, 25, and 27.

Punjab Police’s Commitment:

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that full security will be provided to national and international players, officials, and spectators. Search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-based operations are being conducted at stadiums, players' residences, and team routes.

  1. Security will remain on high alert, and traffic flow will be maintained.

  2. Safe City Authority cameras will ensure strict monitoring.

  3. Strict checking will be carried out at stadium entrances and exits.

  4. Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and Elite Force will conduct patrolling during matches.

  5. Cricket fans are requested to follow security guidelines to ensure a successful event.
