Karachi Policeman Falls Victim to Street Crime

The surge in street crimes in Karachi has left even law enforcement officers vulnerable, as a head constable from the Intelligence Special Branch, Malir City Police Station, was recently robbed at gunpoint.

The incident occurred on Monday morning when the officer, Akbar, was en route to duty. He was intercepted by two armed individuals riding an unregistered 125cc motorcycle under the Malir City Bridge on the National Highway. At gunpoint, they stole his government-issued 125cc motorcycle and mobile phone before fleeing.

The Saudabad Police registered the case (No. 04/2025) under Section 397 of the Pakistan Penal Code and transferred the investigation to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (Landi Division). Despite ongoing efforts, no progress has been made in recovering the stolen motorcycle.

This incident underscores the alarming rise in street crime across Karachi, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect both civilians and law enforcement personnel.
