Dec 22 (MilkyStory): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy celebrated Oleksandr Usyk's emphatic victory over Tyson Fury in Riyadh, where the boxer retained the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC world heavyweight titles. Zelenskiy hailed Usyk as a symbol of Ukraine's unwavering spirit and resilience.

Undefeated Usyk, who claimed Fury's WBC belt in their first bout in May, secured another dominant win in the rematch via unanimous decision, marking the second loss of Fury's professional career.

"Victory! This is so important and deeply needed by all of us right now," Zelenskiy wrote on X, reflecting on Ukraine’s ongoing struggles in the war against Russia since Moscow's invasion in 2022.

"By defending his championship belt, Oleksandr Usyk demonstrates that we Ukrainians will never surrender what is rightfully ours. No matter how tough the battle, we will overcome everything. Whether in the ring, on the battlefield, or in diplomacy, we will fight and hold firm. Congratulations on your victory, Cossack! Congratulations on your victory, Ukraine!"

Former world champion Wladimir Klitschko, who joined the Ukrainian military reserves before the Russian invasion, was present at the Kingdom Arena to witness Usyk's triumph.

"Ukraine is fortunate to have you. You are a true emblem of our resilience. Glory to Ukraine," Klitschko wrote on X, praising Usyk's performance.
